NEWPORT, RHODE ISLAND

We had a spare Sunday so we drove to Newport just to see what is there. What is there is an wonderful collection of huge old estates. Some of them even have gate houses. It speaks of a time of graceful wealth by the sea. Many of these estates now appear to have corporate ownership although Newport still keeps its atmosphere of wealth and grace.

                                                   

We walked along the "Cliff Walk" and looked back upon this lovely beach.
