PUMPKIN
FESTIVALPAWTUCKET, RI; OCTOBER
Click on the upper thumbnails to see
many of the carved pumpkins that we saw. Most of these were carved
into the outer surfaces of the pumpkins to make scenes and faces.
The theme of the exhibit, which included 5000 pumpkins, was a
history of the American experience told largely through the people -
both real and Hollywood - that we recognize from those times. What
made it unique was that all these people and scenes were carved onto
the outer surfaces of pumpkins.
We are grateful to
Kris's coworker, Maria, for these pictures. She remembered what
Dennis forgot - a camera. Good job, Maria.
The show was held in
McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket. McCoy is the home of beloved "Pawsox"
baseball team and it hosted the longest professional baseball game
in history. Learn
about it here. It is worth looking at it.
