BIRDING IN WRENTHAM, MASS.
BIRCHWOLD FARM AREA

October was still pretty nice out there and Dennis found a great hiking and birding area along the road between Kris's work place (CVS) and the hotel in Franklin, MA. It used to be a farm that was taken in eminent domain and has been converted to a nature area with many trails (perhaps they call them paths here). There was not a great of bird activity since it was October, but it was fun to be outside and just wandering and watching.

Ponds are everywhere around here and have been a pleasant surprise from dry Arizona. This was a the end of the leaf show and, within two weeks, the trees would be bare. But it was a real treat to be there when it was colorful.

These are Cedar Waxwings and seem to be fairly common here. This one was feeding at a very popular Cedar Tree.

This is an Eastern Bluebird. Bluebirds are fairly common here at this time of year and this one is viciously attacking a berry.

An Eastern Phoebe

American Robin

This is a warbler but they all look alike in the Fall so it has no name.
