Hammonasset State Park

The first part of April has been spent in Branford at Melissa's as her guest while we are "on the bench" between job assignments. On April 10 we actually had a warm, sunny day so went exploring and wound up at this state park on the shores of Long Island Sound. This park has a nature trail and a nature center so we were interested and enjoyed our afternoon.

 

People see parks in their own way; this bike rider used his bike to hop from rock to rock. The Flycatcher was in bushes just a few feet from the shoreline. The shore was interesting; there were glacial rocks scattered all over and the beach had a line of shells that was thicker than anywhere we had seen. They also had provided nesting platforms for Osprey such as these.
