There's a Summer Place... This page will have interest to only two people besides myself - my two cousins. So, Marge and Bill: this duds for you. For the rest of you who got here by accident, I will say this just make it feel worth while. Our grandfather built a summer cottage in the very small town of Vermillion, Ohio as a place to go and rest and fish and to simply get away from his/our home in Cleveland. In this respect he was light years ahead of his time. Upon his death, the "cottage" passed to my cousin's side and his house in Cleveland to my side. Because of this, we three kids had wonderful summers on the edge of Lake Erie. It was a time when little kids were safe from predators and we had free run of our small area of Bluebird Beach and the beach itself. Mark Twain would have loved it. I went back there about 30 years later to make a sentimental journey - my cousins had gotten there a year or two before me - and I took these photos. So, Marge and Bill: enjoy it. |
