The Wedding of

Kristine and Dennis - April 22, 2006

Isn't it interesting how weddings - no matter how small - seem to grow and take on a life of their own? Ours did just that and when the day came we could not have been happier. We had written our own liturgy, sent out invitations, and invited the entire parish by newsletter. We should have been terrified. But a hectic calm pervaded the final week and we found ourselves enjoying the wedding and the reception immensely. It all went just as we had planned thanks to a lot of people who helped. I don't think that either of us have ever felt so blessed and so honored. If you were there, please enjoy these pages of pictures. If you were not there, then we hope that these pages will move you into the day. In any event, please consider this as the wedding gift given by two lovers who were privileged to celebrate and to confirm our love for each other in the presence of approximately 125 friends and family

We have divided these pages into two parts: the wedding and the reception. We are indebted to our official photographer, Lynne Mueller and to our unofficial photographer, Lee Worthen. This was one time when Ye Olde Webmaster did not carry a camera.

The Wedding:
We modified the Mass and the wedding Rite from the Book of Common Prayer to fit our faith backgrounds - one of us is Roman Catholic and the other is Episcopalian. We wrote a program for the service for use by everyone there and it is found here; Program. Thanks to the suggestion of our Maid of Honor, Kris did not carry a bouquet down the aisle. Instead, flowers were passed out just prior to procession and she collected them into a bouquet as she walked to the altar. We wanted everyone to participate and this was a great way to start. Several people have commented on the vows we used with the ring exchange and these are found here: Vows. Also, we prayed an Apache Wedding Prayer at the very end of service and it is found here also; Prayer .  Both of these speak very strongly for how we feel about our marriage from this point in our lives. Now, enjoy the pictures of our wedding. Click here: Wedding Pictures

The Reception:
Words cannot describe how thrilled we were with the reception. Chrissie Booker handled the entire event with help from her sandwich maker husband Fr. Jim Booker (what a utility guy). The reception was held in the parish hall and almost everyone came over from the wedding and joined us for great food and wonderful company. One of us spent so much time talking that he nearly lost his voice - such is the pain of the strong silent type. To see the pictures of our reception, click here: Reception Pictures.

Just for the record, we left immediately for our room in Phoenix before catching a flight to Orlando the next day. But there are no pictures of that Phoenix evening. You know how it is....

The Honeymoon:
Spend some more time with us and enjoy our honeymoon! Honest - these are all family pictures.
